The Grizzly Rose
5450 North Valley Highway (near 58th/I25)
303-295-1330
35' x 59' Hardwood dance floor
Remarks:
- Although other Denver-area country nightclubs feature larger dance
floors, these floors are irregularly shaped and many experienced dancers
prefer the more standard dance floor at the Grizzly Rose
- Whereas the danceability of the live bands is highly unpredictable,
the pre-band recorded music is often excellent for contemporary country dancing
(esp. Two Step and WCS)
- Due to large crowds, the floor sometimes becomes undanceable after the
band begins (approx. 9pm), especially on weekends.
- The dance floor is unavailable during some group lessons (call ahead)
- Concerts may interfere with dancing (call ahead)
-
Stampede
2430 South Havana
303-696-7686
Large hardwood floor (racetrack shape)
Remarks:
- A steakhouse is located upstairs
- Stampede does not feature live bands
- The irregularly shaped dance floor sometimes results in traffic problems
between progressive and non-progressive dancers
- The music does not appear to be selected with dancers in mind

The Rose
2993 North Ave
970-245-0606
40' x 40' Hardwood dance floor
Remarks:
- Unquestionably the best place for country dancing on the western slope
- Tables on the perimeter of the dance floor reduce the dancing area
from the 1600 sq. ft. cited above
