Although the waltz is firmly established as one of the enduring favorites
of generations of dancers, contemporary country music is virtually the only
genre of popular music that extensively utilizes waltz timing. Fortunately,
however, a relatively large number of country CD's feature at least one waltz.
Because of the emphasis that is placed on control and gracefulness, slower
waltzes tend to be regarded as the most challenging.
